Founded in 1927 was the neighborhood of Sherman Oaks. This neighborhood is located in the valley of San Fernando which is a region of Los Angeles, CA. This park has two baseball diamonds that are lighted, six baseball diamonds that are unlighted, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, an auditorium, play area for children, football field, community room that fits 60 people, tennis courts, soccer field, gymnasium indoor with weights and picnic tables. They also have a heated pool outside as well. Lastly, The Sherman Oaks Castle Park is located here too. It has miniature golf facilities and batting cages.

The series was based on a plastic surgeon and his family by a documentary filmmaker. Sherman Oaks is also known for numerous amount of celebrities that have or are still residing there as well. Some of these celebrities include Clint Eastwood, Drew Barrymore, Paula Abdul, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Chip Esten, James Dean, and many more.
