Founded in 1927 was the neighborhood of Sherman Oaks. This neighborhood is located in the valley of San Fernando which is a region of Los Angeles, CA. There is an estimated population of over 52,677 people in the Sherman Oaks neighborhood. The population is fairly smaller than most of Los Angeles because a larger portion of Sherman Oaks is occupied by the Santa Monica Mountains. This park has two baseball diamonds that are lighted, six baseball diamonds that are unlighted, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, an auditorium, play area for children, football field, community room that fits 60 people, tennis courts, soccer field, gymnasium indoor with weights and picnic tables. They also have a heated pool outside as well. Lastly, The Sherman Oaks Castle Park is located here too. It has miniature golf facilities and batting cages.

In Sherman Oaks, there are several schools available for learning. There are only 3 private schools and 8 public schools. The private schools include Notre Dame High School, The Buckley School, and Village Glen School. The public schools include Van Nuys Middle School, Kester Avenue Elementary School, Chandler Elementary School, Robert A. Millikan Middle School, Sherman Oaks Elementary, Dixie Canyon Avenue Elementary, Riverside Drive Elementary, and Ivy Bound Academy.

Sherman Oaks is known for the series Never Have I ever and Black-ish as they were both filmed in Sherman Oaks. There was also a television series called Sherman Oaks that took place in 1995-1997. The series was based on a plastic surgeon and his family by a documentary filmmaker. Sherman Oaks is also known for numerous amount of celebrities that have or are still residing there as well. Some of these celebrities include Clint Eastwood, Drew Barrymore, Paula Abdul, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Chip Esten, James Dean, and many more.
